moniqux ensemble is a Glasgow-based performance company making collaborative dance and music work. The company is shaped by lived experience, cultural plurality, and an understanding of performance as a space for exchange and reflection. Work is developed through ongoing dialogue between physical practice, sound, and the social contexts in which it is made.

The name moniqux reflects histories of migration, adaptation, and redefinition. It honours a family lineage grounded in youth work, community activity, and shared meals, values that continue to inform the company’s working methods and approach.

Founded by artistic director Mele Broomes, the company is informed by her practice and experience in initiating creative development opportunities for Black and people of colour creatives in Scotland.
